Our primary objective is to respond to the needs of the wider community of Montagu in ways that will make a difference, however small. We aim to support, uplift, dignify, empower and enhance the lives of people in need through humanitarian and socially orientated development projects. These projects are aimed at poverty relief, skills and knowledge transfer, basic shelter and emergency intervention.

Montagu Cares currently support two food kitchens offering nutritious meals to those in need, ensuring access to essential sustenance and distribute meals regularly, providing a source of nourishment and support to vulnerable individuals and families.

reading with meaning

Reading with Meaning program follows the TaRL (Teach at the Right Level) program working with grade 4's. It is designed to assist learners with literacy, reading and reading with comprehension. this program, in collaboration with WA Rossouw, started in April 2024 with 10 volunteers who offer twice weekly classes.

We utilize different revenue streams for funding of our programs that include business partners, sponsors, private donors as well as specific fundraising events. Our pre-loved item market remains our most significant income stream.
